Nothing is as delightful, refreshing and amazing than watching kids smile. There was bunch of activities planned for kids during the festival.
The workshop “Dangaddhinga” was a huge success .Nana Nani Park was been captured by little ones during the festival. The workshop was conducted by ‘Madhyam’ a Pune based organization which believe in fun learning.
More than 200 kids participated and along with dancing , singing , playing , painting they were introduced to skills like puppet making , mask making .The purpose was to make them more confident without compromising on their innocence. Kids loved the volunteers and developed a bond with them in no time.
How reality shows can have adverse effects on the lives of innocent kids was well depicted in the play written and directed by Vibhawari Deshpande . Though the play was about the kids, the massage was for the parents .The organizers were aware of the impact TV media has on common man , hence decided to stage an eye opening play ‘Project Aditi’.
Healthy competition plays an important role in shaping the personality at the young age. The drawing, singing and dance competitions proved that Latur is enriched with young talent. The puppet show was another amazing activity which not just kids but everybody enjoyed .Young Puppeteer Satyajeet Padhye’s puppets Rangila and dot.com instantly won viewer’s hearts. Satyajeet gave an overview of this art form, discussed how puppets can be useful in modern learning methods apart from mere entertainment.
These activities were oriented at overall personality development of kids. Though the span of 3 days is insufficient for the purpose but the response definitely made it clear, that many such activities are required. Festival is just the first step towards arranging such activities in future.
